FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are answers to some commonly asked questions. If your question is not answered below, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call our hotline at (201) 891-9332.
Q: Do I have to register online?
A: Yes. Registrations must be done online. You will need to create an account using the gym representative's email. You will then create a password. You can use a prior year's email, but every year you will create a NEW password.
The gym representative is the person who will be the contact and make changes to your registration. A gym can have more than one representative. The person creating a separate registration can have his/her own registration email and password under the same club ID.
Payment should be mailed immediately to GNYI, PO Box 476, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A registration is not final until payment is received.
Q: When is my registration confirmed?
A: After we receive your payment, you will receive a confirmation email from email@example.com notifying you that your registration is confirmed.
Q: What if I have scratches and/or replacements?
1. Log in to your registration account.
2. Click on the gymnast's USAG number, and click the button "Scratch This Gymnast." You can also mark a gymnast as "Unscratched."
3. You will receive an email when your change request is approved.
4. If you would like replace or add a gymnast, you will need to click the "Additions" tab; select the gymnast you would like to add; and proceed with the checkout.
Q: What if I need to register more gymnasts after my original registration is final and paid for?
A: Log in to the GNYI registration system, and click on the "Additions" tab. There you will only see gymnasts who have not been registered and are listed under your club ID.
Q: What if I need to make changes to my roster after November 10?
A: You can still make changes after November 10. However, please note that there are no refunds after this date. Log in to your registration account and make the changes you would like to make. We will receive your change request and you will receive an email once it has been approved. Note: Registration requests made after November 10 must be approved by the Meet Directors and will be based upon space/availability.
Q: I entered my Club ID number and nothing happened/wrong gym appeared.
A: Double check your USAG Club ID number and retype. Be sure to have all zeros in place.
Q: I entered my Club ID, and the fields didn’t auto-populate.
A: Enable cookies on your internet browser. If you need more info on enabling your cookies, google “enable cookies + the name of your internet browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Bing).”
Q: I entered the USAG number but the gymnast’s names did not auto-populate.
A: Only gymnasts with current memberships will auto-populate. Go to https://usagym.org to renew gymnast memberships.
Q: Which device is best to use the registration site?
A: For the best experience, use a laptop with the Chrome browser.
Q: Some of the gymnasts from my gym are not listed in your registration system.
A: Make sure your roster in the USAG system is current and the USAG numbers for your gymnasts are current. Go to https://usagym.com to review and/or update this information.
Q: I only have two gymnasts and do not want to pay a team fee.
A: The team fee only applies to gyms who register three gymnasts or more in the same level.
Q: What if I register 1-2 gymnast in a level during one session and register additional gymnasts in that level during a separate session on your site. Will the team fee automatically be added?
A: If you create an account during one session/register less than 3 gymnasts in a level, then register gymnasts in a second session the team fee may not be automatically added. We will add the team fee and send you an e-mail with the new total due.
Q: Do team fees apply to gymnasts registered in Xcel?
A: No. Team fees are not applied to Xcel teams. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you see that a team fee has been added.
Q: Is my scratched gymnast eligible for a refund?
A: Refunds will be issued if the request is made in writing before 11:59 PM on 11/10/17. After this deadline (11/10/17), NO refunds will be issued for any reason.
Q: Who do I make the payment check to?
A: Greater New York Invitational/GNYI. Payment should be mailed to PO Box 476, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
Q: I seem to be having some issues with the Registration system. What should I do?
A: We recommend using Chrome when accessing the GNYI Registration System. If you continue to encounter issues after accessing the system using Chrome, contact us at email@example.com.
Q: I qualified for a registration incentive this year. When will I receive my money?
A: Incentive payments will be given to the head coach of the respective group when s/he checks in at the coaches table at the GNYI.
Q: Does the incentive money go to the gym or to the coach?
A: The checks will be payable to "Cash" and will be given to the head coach listed in the GNYI registration system for the respective group (i.e., boys, girls, Xcel) at the GNYI Coaches' Registration Table when s/he registers.
Q: We brought gymnasts to the GNYI a few years ago but didn't attend last year. Do we still qualify for a registration incentive?
A: Yes. We are comparing your registration figures for this year (2017) to last year (2016). If you didn't attend last year, regardless of whether you have attended in years prior, you still qualify.
Q: When will the schedule be posted?
A: Our goal this year is to post a schedule approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the meet. If the schedule is up sooner, we will announce that on this website as well as the various GNYI social media outlets.
Q: Will you feed me at the meet?
A: Absolutely! We offer fantastic food and hospitality from morning until night.
Q: Will you entertain me at the meet?
A: You bet! We have a coaches' party with an open bar, food, and music on Saturday evening. Come, eat, drink, dance or kick back and relax with your friends after a long day of coaching!
